Named in honor of the ancient Japanese province of Musashi, the ship was put into a slipway on Maand formally delivered on August 5, 1942, at which time it was assigned to the 1st Battleship Division alongside its twin Yamato, Nagato and Mutsu. It was the second in the Yamato class and together with its twin ship, the Yamato, it was the heaviest and most heavily armed battleship ever built thanks to its 72800-ton full-load displacement and nine 460mm guns. Musashi was a battleship of the Japanese Imperial Navy during World War II. But IX-X CV planes, she can't.Japanese Battleship Musashi, 1940-44, 1: 1100, Eaglemoss Yamato's AA isn't amazing, but with BFT & AFT, she can swat at least Tier VIII aircraft around like it's cool. Tier VI New Mexico has vastly superior AA than Musashi. Musashi's AA is so bad that Tier VII planes have nothing to fear, much less higher tiered aircraft. If the player AA spec'ed it of course, if not, then they're just as defenseless as Tirpitz is to air attacks. The way Missouri, Iowa make it through an air attack is not by tanking the hits, it's by killing many of the planes before the CV can do its worst. Enterprise, Graf Zeppelin, Shokaku, Kaga, they'll all hurt badly. Midway coming with her multiple TBs & DBs is going to hurt badly. Taiho or Hakuryu hitting you for, say 8 out of 12 torpedoes is still substantial damage. ( I did free EXP it and still could almost buy another.620K free left over) Musashi can take more than a few torp hits. Sure planes get through when you have the occasional CV, bu those same planes do far less damage when they do land torps on Musashi, than they do when they hit Missouri! (as an example) I find all the talk about lack of AA, without the corresponding TORPEDO belt Armour, to be somewhat disingenuous.
